New check has three steps. You can save a check part of the way through and finish it later.
Candidate and purpose
Add the person's full name, their email and the role. The role is shown on the report, so whoever reads it knows what the check was for.
Choose why you are checking them from the list of purposes. Some purposes ask you to describe the lawful purpose in your own words.
Then choose whether to ask the person for consent. If you ask, their email is required. See How consent works for a check.
CV and profiles
This step is optional. A CV and any profile links you already know help us tell the person apart from others with the same name, which means fewer profiles for you to sort in identity review. They are used for this check only.
Review and send
Check the summary, then enter the email address that should get the finished report. We email that address when the report is ready, unless an admin has turned off Notify on completion in Check defaults.
Before you send, you confirm that:
- the person is an adult (18 or older)
- your organisation has a lawful business purpose for the check, your organisation is the responsible party and Loomis is your data processor.
If your organisation gave these confirmations when it signed the agreement, the step says so and there is nothing to tick.
Sending a check uses one from your plan, and the card beside New check shows how many are left. For plans, see Pricing.
