Reminding a volunteer to give consent

Updated 26 October 20262 minute read

When you ask a volunteer for consent, their check waits until they answer. Their line on your roster reads Waiting for consent, and Home counts them under Waiting.

Sending a reminder

  • Open Volunteers and choose the volunteer.
  • Choose Remind with their first name, at the top of their record.

We send them the same consent email again, with the same link. You can remind a volunteer once a day, after the first email has gone out. If you see "They were reminded in the last day", try again tomorrow.

When a volunteer says no

Their line also reads Consent not given, and nothing about them is searched. For a while after a no, Loomis won't check them without asking again. If a volunteer says no to your organisation more than once, you can't ask or check them for a period, and the Annual refresh page says why they were left out.

Cancelling instead

If the volunteer is no longer with you, choose Cancel check on their record. Their link stops working.

If a volunteer has questions before they answer, the consent page points them to your safeguarding contact.
