Naming your safeguarding contact

Updated 26 October 20262 minute read

Your safeguarding contact is the person volunteers can talk to about a check. Naming one is part of setting up your organisation, and we can't review your organisation until it's done.

What to enter

An admin sets this on the Safeguarding page.

  • Safeguarding contact: full name and email are required. Role and phone are optional.
  • Child-protection policy: tick to confirm your organisation has one and your volunteers follow it. You can add a link to the policy, starting with https://, or upload it as a file. Both are optional.

Where volunteers see the contact

When we ask a volunteer for consent, the page names your contact with their email, and their phone if you gave one, after Questions? Ask.

Your contact also shows on Home for everyone in your organisation, and on the Annual refresh page.

Changing the contact

An admin can open the Safeguarding page again at any time and update the details. The consent page always shows the contact as it stands, including for volunteers you asked before the change.

Choose someone who can answer questions about how your organisation looks after children and young people. For how Loomis handles the contact's details, see Privacy.
