Loomis reads each new comment on your posts and sorts it into one of five kinds. Your comment rules say what happens next. Anything that needs a person waits at the top of the Comments page.
The five kinds
- Positive: praise and kind words. Like it, and reply or not.
- Questions: questions and requests for more. Like it, and reply or not.
- Negative: complaints, criticism and hostile comments. Flag it for a person, send a holding reply, or have Loomis draft a reply.
- Unsure: mixed, unclear, or in a language Loomis doesn't read yet. Flag it for a person.
- Spam: promotions and links from other accounts. Hide it.
What you start with
Loomis does nothing on a platform until you turn a rule on. Negative and unsure comments are flagged for a person from the start. A flagged comment waits under Needs a person, and your organisation admins get an email.
Rules act only on comments from the last three days, so turning one on never answers a backlog.
Replies
For positive comments and questions, choose Don't reply, Draft a reply or Reply by itself.
- A drafted reply goes through your comment reply approval rule, like a post.
- Reply by itself sends only when that approval rule is set to reply without asking, and every fact in the reply checks out. Anything Loomis can't check waits for a person.
- Replies to negative comments always wait for a person.
- Replies on X always wait for a person, because X requires approval for AI replies.
A holding reply for a negative comment is your own words, sent exactly as you wrote them.
Loomis writes replies in your brief's tone, or in a persona you pick on the Voice page. If a comment already has replies on the platform, Loomis sends nothing and leaves its reply as a draft.
Changing comment rules needs the manage settings permission.
